Model Contractor Development Program Kicks Off February 21 at Jackson Municipal Airport Authority
Jackson, Mississippi — January 19, 2017 — The Mississippi Development Authority kicks off its Model Contractor Development Program workshop series at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 21. The program will be held in the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority’s Community Room, 3rd Floor Mezzanine Level in the Main Terminal Building at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport, 100 International Drive, Jackson, Mississippi.
Workshop participants will learn how to increase their operations and bonding capacity. The nine-week workshop series is free, but participants must enroll or already be enrolled in the Mississippi Contractor Procurement Network system (www.mscpc.com) to attend. Additionally, each company’s representative must agree to attend at least seven of the nine sessions to successfully complete the program.
The workshops will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The program schedule follows:
- Feb. 21 – Kickoff and Orientation
- Feb. 28 – Business Planning and Management
- March 7 – Accounting and Financial Management
- March 14 – Banking and Finance
- March 21 – Bonding and Insurance
- March 28 – Marketing, Estimating and Bidding
- April 4 – Project Management and Field Operations
- April 11 – Claims and Disputes Resolution
- April 18 – Managing Growth
