Model Contractor Development Program Kicks Off Feb. 22
Jackson, Mississippi — January 23, 2018 — Contractors interested in growing their business can now enroll in the Mississippi Development Authority’s free Model Contractor Development Program scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 22. The workshop series will be held in the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority’s Community Room, 3rd Floor Mezzanine Level in the Main Terminal Building at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport, 100 International Drive, Jackson, Mississippi.
The MCDP will cover topics such as how to increase operations and bonding capacity. Participants must enroll or already be enrolled in the Mississippi Contractor Procurement Network system www.mscpc.com, to take part in the nine-week course. Additionally, each company’s representative must agree to attend at least seven of the nine sessions to successfully complete the program.
This year’s kick-off session will feature guest speaker Joanne Brooks, Esq., vice president and counsel of the Surety and Fidelity Association of America. Brooks will cover the topic “Why Bonding Matters,” focusing on bonding as an empowerment tool which leads to controlled growth, job creation and legacy wealth.
The workshops will be held Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The program schedule follows:
