Mississippi Development Authority to Host Cuba Business Summit

Jackson, Mississippi — Sept. 8, 2016 — Taking advantage of trade opportunities with Cuba will be the topic of the one-day seminar Doing Business with Cuba, hosted by the Mississippi Development Authority. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at The South Warehouse, 627 E. Silas Brown Street in Jackson.

“The summit is an excellent opportunity for Mississippi business leaders interested in trade and investment in the Cuban market to learn how to capitalize upon recent changes in Cuba’s trade laws and changes in the relationship between the U.S. and Cuba,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. Speakers at the summit include leaders in Cuba’s corporate banking and international trade sectors; infrastructure and energy sectors; and agriculture, commodities and mining sectors.

Topics to be covered include: Legal Environment: Doing Business in Cuba; Business Opportunities in Cuba’s Agriculture, Mining, Construction and Energy Sectors; Business Opportunities in Cuba’s Infrastructure: Ports, Roads, Rails and Airports; and Business Opportunities in Cuba’s Telecommunications.
