Free Model Contractor Development Program Kicks Off Sept. 18 in Gulfport
Jackson, Mississippi — August 6, 2018 — Contractors interested in expanding their business are encouraged to enroll in the Mississippi Development Authority’s free Model Contractor Development Program. The program kicks off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 at the Knight Nonprofit Center’s Regions Room, located 11975 Seaway Road in Gulfport.
The nine-week MCDP covers relevant topics for businesses seeking to increase their operations and bonding capacity. Participants must enroll or already be enrolled in the Mississippi Contractor Procurement Network system, www.mscpc.com, to take part program. Additionally, each company’s representative must agree to attend at least seven of the nine sessions to successfully complete the program and receive a certificate of completion.
The kick-off session will feature guest speaker Joanne Brooks, Esq., vice president and counsel of Surety and Fidelity Association of America. Brooks co-authored the MCDP’s framework. During the kick-off, she will present “Why Bonding Matters,” which focuses on bonding as an empowerment tool which leads to controlled growth, job creation and legacy wealth.
The workshops will be held Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The program schedule is as follows:
