MDA to Host Webinar on Social Media Marketing
Jackson, Miss. (February 15, 2013) – The Mississippi Development Authority’s (MDA’s) Entrepreneur Center, in collaboration with Mississippi State University (MSU) Extension Service, the Extension Broadband Education & Adoption Team and the Extension Center for Technology Outreach, will host the Small Business Online Presence Strategies Webinar on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:55 p.m.
The goal of the webinar is to help small business owners and managers find effective ways to use social media in their business strategies. It will show attendees how to get started with social media marketing tools and why using social media is an important way to reach out to potential customers in today’s dynamic business environment.
Mississippi small business owners and managers, including those in the retail, service and manufacturing sectors, as well as home-based businesses and potential start-up businesses, are invited to take part.
“In the Entrepreneur Center at MDA, we are finding that many of our clients, which are small business owners, are skeptical about implementing social media into their overall marketing efforts,” said John Brandon, MDA Entrepreneur Center development specialist. “This webinar will take a close look at many of the social media tools available and provide examples of how they can be used to assist a small business with its marketing efforts.”
Roberto Gallardo from the Extension Broadband Education and Adoption Team located at MSU will present at the webinar. Gallardo brings a wealth of experience in using broadband Internet.
“More and more small business owners are finding that the vast assortment of Internet tools is overwhelming and confusing,” said Brandon. “The Online Presence Strategies webinar will offer participants an opportunity to glean from industry experts how to put a plan together in a cost-effective way that can bring new customers into any small business.”
The webinar will be broadcast online from MSU’s campus in Starkville, Miss. Those interested in attending or hosting the webinar may register online at http://mississippi.cvent.com/onlinestrategies. Registration is free; however, there are a limited number of spaces available. Registrants will be emailed a link for joining the webinar.
