Mississippi Delegation to Attend SEUS-Canada Conference
Jackson, Miss. (March 6, 2014) — The state of Mississippi will lead a delegation of state business leaders and economic development professionals at the 7th Annual Southeastern U.S. – Canadian Provinces Alliance Conference. The event will be held May 4-6, 2014 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C.
Mississippi businesses, economic developers, local officials and university representatives are invited to join the delegation at the event.
The SEUS-CP annual conference will unite more than 250 business and government leaders from the alliance’s member states and Canadian provinces and provide opportunities to forge new business relationships and strengthen trade and investment connections. Sectors of focus for this year’s conference include new information technologies, cleantech and advanced manufacturing.
“Canada is Mississippi’s number two trade partner, and this conference is an excellent way to build upon the mutually-beneficial relationship we share with our Canadian counterparts,” said MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen. “I encourage Mississippi businesses in all industry sectors that are interested in trade opportunities with Canada to make plans to join us at this year’s event.”
In addition to panel discussions highlighting the conference’s focus sectors, the event will also feature the Business-to-Business Matchmaking Program. The program is designed to identify strategic partnerships and business development opportunities between delegates. MDA encourages Mississippi businesses interested in attending the event to take advantage of these pre-arranged meetings with participating Canadian companies.
