Rockfon Ramps up Operations in Marshall County
Marshall County, Mississippi — October 18, 2017 — Rockfon, subsidiary of Denmark-based ROCKWOOL International A/S, held a grand opening for the company’s acoustic ceiling tile manufacturing facility in Marshall County, Mississippi. The project is a $40 million investment and creates 90 jobs.
“Rockfon’s grand opening is indicative of the competitive advantages a Marshall County location provides well-established, successful companies seeking longevity in today’s ever-changing economy,” Governor Bryant said.
Rockfon announced in November 2015 it would locate in Marshall County. The company is an affiliate of ROXUL USA, which also has a location in Marshall County. Rockfon constructed a 130,000-square-foot facility at the site of the existing ROXUL facility, which is located on more than 100 acres in the Chickasaw Trails Industrial Park.
“We’re delighted to expand our manufacturing presence in Marshall County and want to thank the state and local government officials who have facilitated this $40 million investment,” said ROCKWOOL Group CEO Jens Birgersson. “With the great workforce and business environment here, we’re laying the foundation for further growth in the North American market.”
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for infrastructure improvements and workforce training. Marshall County, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Appalachian Regional Commission also assisted with the project.
“Rockfon’s grand opening is a shining example of how Mississippi’s advantages for business and industry enable companies to invest in our state and create jobs while winning in today’s competitive global economy,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr.
Rockfon began operations in July of this year.
