PG Technologies Opens for Business in Ellisville
Jackson, Mississippi — December 1, 2017 — State, local and corporate officials gathered to mark the grand opening of PG Technologies in Ellisville, Mississippi. The project, a joint venture of Praxair Surface Technologies and GE Aviation, is a $100 million corporate investment and creates 250 jobs, with the potential to grow to 400 jobs.
“The opening of PG Technologies is a significant milestone for Ellisville, Jones County and the state’s aerospace industry. Each day, Mississippians working in the aerospace sector show the world we have what it takes to compete successfully on a global scale. I know the PG Technologies’ team will continue our tradition of aerospace excellence,” Governor Phil Bryant said.
Following a competitive site selection process, Praxair Surface Technologies and GE Aviation announced the formation of PG Technologies in October 2016. PG Technologies’ Ellisville location supplements services from the company’s locations in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Republic of Singapore, as well as Praxair Service Technologies facilities worldwide.
The plant provides development, support and application of specialized coatings for GE components associated with nearly all of GE’s aircraft engines. GE Aviation will deliver engine parts from locations throughout the U.S. and the world to Ellisville to undergo surface coating through various processes.
“We are excited about our future in Mississippi,” said PG Technologies Managing Director Derek Hileman. “The formation of this joint venture has afforded us the opportunity to grow along with GE Aviation. With the help of the Mississippi Development Authority, the state of Mississippi, Jones County and the Board of Supervisors, the city of Ellisville, the Economic Development Authority of Jones County and the Jones County Economic Development Support Group, PG Technologies is proud to bring technological advancements and career opportunities to Ellisville and the state.”
The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for infrastructure and building improvements, relocation of equipment and workforce training. The Jones County Economic Development Authority, city of Ellisville, Jones County and Mississippi Power assisted with the project, as well.
“PG Technologies’ grand opening is the culmination of effective teamwork between private and public entities working together to bring exciting careers to Mississippians in Jones County while enhancing the local community through economic development,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “MDA congratulates the PG Technologies team, Jones County EDA, city of Ellisville, Jones County and Mississippi Power on this momentous occasion.”
PG Technologies currently employs nearly 60 workers and expects that figure to reach more than 160 by the end of 2018. The company plans to reach 250 employees by 2020.
