Gov. Phil Bryant Begins Mississippi Works Tour
Jackson, Miss. (October 3, 2014) — Gov. Phil Bryant started his statewide Mississippi Works tour in Meridian, Miss., on Friday at the MSU Riley Center. The tour will focus on Mississippi’s economy, workforce training and economic development efforts.
“The Mississippi Works tour will allow us to share what’s going on in the State of Mississippi now regarding economic development efforts,” Gov. Bryant said. “Success on a statewide scale begins at the local level, and by visiting different parts of the state we can share our vision with each location for how we will continue to grow Mississippi’s economy. Whether it’s the energy industry, shipbuilding or advanced manufacturing, Mississippi has a diverse economic portfolio and that’s what we want to share. We will continue to grow Mississippi’s skilled-workforce and the state’s economy. I encourage any Mississippi job seekers to visit our state-of-the-art Mississippi Works website that connects employers and job seekers.”
The tour is scheduled for seven Mississippi cities over the next few months which include: Meridian, Greenwood, Gulfport, Tupelo, Hattiesburg, Southaven, and Scooba. Specific dates and times for respective cities will be sent out as each tour date arrives.
