Mississippi Delegation to Attend SEUS-CP Conference

Jackson, Miss. (April 9, 2012) – Governor Phil Bryant will lead a delegation of Mississippi business leaders and economic development officials at the 5th Annual Southeastern United States – Canadian Provinces Alliance (SEUS-CP) conference and trade mission, which is scheduled for May 20-22 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Mississippi businesses, economic developers, university representatives and local officials are encouraged to join the state’s delegation at the event, which brings together business and government officials from the alliance’s member states and provinces each year to forge new business relationships and further build upon the close trade and investment ties that already exist between Canada and the southeastern U.S. states.
This year’s conference is expected to attract more than 300 Canadian and U.S. business and government leaders, and it will focus on the technology, advanced manufacturing, energy and logistics sectors. The event will include more than two days of business-to-business matchmaking meetings.
“The SEUS-CP conference offers Mississippi businesses, economic development officials and government leaders a unique opportunity to strengthen existing ties while garnering new business relationships with our counterparts in Canada,” Governor Bryant said. “Canada is Mississippi’s number one trade partner, and I urge any Mississippi business leaders and economic developers interested in pursuing additional trade and investment opportunities with Canada to join us at this year’s conference.”
