MCDP Starts March 27 in Pascagoula
Pascagoula, Miss. (March 5, 2012) – On Tuesday, March 27, 2012, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) will launch its Model Contractor Development Program (MCDP) workshop series from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, which is located at 720 Krebs Avenue in Pascagoula, Miss.
The MCDP workshop series is designed to teach contractors and small businesses practices that will improve their company’s operations and increase their bonding capacity. The workshop is free of charge and is open to all contractors and small businesses, but participants must enroll their companies in the Mississippi Procurement Technical Assistance Program (www.mscpc.com). Also, a company representative must agree to attend at least seven of the nine sessions.
“The Model Contractor Development Program is a great resource in place to assist Mississippi’s small contractors in growing their businesses and increasing their clientele,” said Jim Barksdale, MDA interim executive director. “Since the program began five years ago, hundreds of participants have graduated the course and have successfully applied the knowledge they acquired through the MCDP sessions to their businesses, winning new contracts and taking their businesses to new levels. I encourage any small business owners and small contractors interested in growing their businesses to sign up for the MCDP course.”
