MDA Leading Business Trip to Canada

Jackson, Miss. (February 1, 2012) – The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) invites Mississippi companies in the environmental and clean energy industries to participate in the biennial GLOBE Conference and Trade Fair. GLOBE 2012, certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, will take place March 14-16, 2012, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
“This event will provide Mississippi firms with great opportunities to showcase their goods and services and build business relationships with companies from all corners of the world. In fact, delegates from more than 50 countries will be in attendance,” said MDA Global Investment and Retention Division Director Skip Scaggs. “The clean energy industry is rapidly growing in Mississippi, and I strongly encourage any businesses in this sector that are interested in pursuing opportunities in Canada and other global markets to make plans to join us at GLOBE 2012.”
Small, qualified businesses that participate in GLOBE 2012 can take advantage of the following benefits offered by MDA through the Small Business Administration-funded State Trade Export Promotion (STEP) grant program:

  • Customized, pre-arranged, business-to-business appointments with pre-qualified potential partners at 50% of cost
  • 10’ x 10’ booth space free of charge in the Mississippi exhibit space within the U.S. Pavilion
  • One complimentary show pass for GLOBE 2012
