He currently focuses on developing, implementing, and advancing U.S. economic and financial sanctions in support of U.S. foreign policy and national security interests and objectives, with a particular focus on the January 2015 Cuba sanctions regulatory changes and Syria.  In his present role, he regularly engages with the private sector and representatives from like-minded governments on the use and application of sanctions.  Mr. Barron has traveled to more than a dozen European capitals in support of US-EU sanctions cooperation and has also contributed to a number of US government programs and initiatives related to export licensing and controls.
