Mississippi Development Authority continues to fulfill our mission. Staff with the capability to work remotely are doing so, while some personnel remain on site in our offices at the Woolfolk Building in Jackson. We remain committed to doing our part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Coronavirus, while promoting community and economic development in Mississippi.
Independent Schools’ COVID-19 Assistance Grant Program
House Bill 1793 created the Independent Schools’ COVID-19 Assistance Grant Program. The legislation authorized $10 million to reimburse schools for eligible expenses incurred by implementing health measures and distance learning as a result of COVID-19.
HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS PPE AND TESTING REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM
This program is designed to provide CARES Act funds to reimburse eligible recipients for the purchase of “personal protective equipment” and providing COVID-19 testing for employees and staff for protection against COVID-19 from current patients.
Mississippi Rental Assistance Grant Program (MRAP)
On October 9, 2020, the Mississippi Rental Assistance Grant Program became law. This program provides grants to property owners to help them recover rental income lost between March 1, 2020, and December 30, 2020, due to COVID-19. Note: The application period for MRAP has ended as of November 15, 2020.
