Community Development Block Grant Program

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) allocated $8,071,710 in Community Development Block Grant Program - Recovery (CDBG-R) funds to the State of Mississippi for general public infrastructure improvement purposes for local units of government. MDA focused on eligible projects that provide basic services to residents, meet the low to moderate income national objective, and could begin within 120 days.

MDA solicited requests from across the state, including from each of the Planning and Development Districts. These requests were evaluated, and narrowed to 18 geographically dispersed projects.
